Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills or stains) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its affordable price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. robot vacuum cleaners reviews is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that shows the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and is easy to comprehend however we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It can then change its course in a way that is automatic and clean around them, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is striking, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the use of pads. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it an ideal choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Unlike other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, thus reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available, but it packs in many extra features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature as it stops the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are numerous functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles rather than using a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
